Vaser Liposuction is one of several very specific types of liposuction or liposuction-like techniques that is becoming increasingly popular among plastic surgery fans. Vaser is a form of ultrasonic liposuction, and has only been around very recently, being only about 10 years old or so.
Basically vaser liposuction is a patented system that uses ultrasound to break up and flush out excess fat with absolute minimum effects on surrounding parts of the body like blood vessels, nerves, or whatever else might be found around the treated area. While there will still be some minor bruising around the treated area of the body where the fat was flushed, there will still be less damage, pain, and recovery time needed from a vaser procedure as opposed to actual traditional liposuction.
One of the reasons that this particular style of plastic surgery is becoming so popular is because its one of the few types of cosmetic procedures that is very low impact. In fact, this is one of the only forms of cosmetic surgery where a patient can be fully awake through the entire thing. Many customers enjoy this because they’re not groggy or taking the risks of anesthesia while they can walk in, have the vaser, then walk out and basically go about the rest of their day normally.
Vaser liposuction received full accreditation from the FDA for use in the United States in 2002, and was initially used in both Latin America and Europe, where it became very popular. This is sometimes also referred to as a “non surgical liposuction” procedure, which is not completely accurate, but shows how low impact this really is, and why vaser is likely to remain so popular for a long time to come.
